My name is Tanisha, owner of T Smith Landscape Design. I'm a local Landscape Designer here in Lake County. I was born and raised a hop, skip, and a jump over the 29 in Santa Rosa, before relocating to Hidden Valley Lake with my husband in 2019. I received my formal education in Business Management and Wine Business Strategies from Sonoma State University, where I graduated in 2017 with my Bachelor's Degree. Hospitality was my first introduction to horticulture. It was while working in the wine industry that I had the opportunity to learn about biodynamic farming practices and how plants are stacked to create function in the landscape.

      A year after graduating, I found myself working in a land planning, landscape architecture, and civil engineering firm in Santa Rosa. After a year with the firm, I went back to Santa Rosa Junior College to pursue my Associate's Degree in Landscape Design. It was with the SRJC design program that I also received my QWEL Certification, while learning the ins and outs of irrigation systems and water calculations.

     In the last six years I've had the opportunity to learn from and work under the guidance of landscape architects and contractors in the Bay Area. I've taken on designs from small scale turf conversions to high end and high budget residential design. I deeply appreciate all of the teachers who have helped me learn what I know in the industry, from standard landscape construction to highly sustainable and earth friendly landscape practices.

I look forward to continuing to help motivate and educate the clients I have the privilege to work with, just as I've had the opportunity to learn from all of the clients and teachers I've worked with through the years.
