These clients were looking for a backyard refresh. The property had a short and failing retaining wall on the back side, a shed that has been unused and is not in working condition, and uneven cracking concrete on the right side of the house. We worked with the clients to address some constraints following the draft concept design and moved them away from a masonry fireplace and more toward a privacy feature wall in an effort to move toward something in budget. Mediterranean climate plants were proposed in the planting design in addition to California Natives and drought-tolerant options. The project ultimately did not go to installation.
