EROSION CONTROL AND DRAINAGE
This client had a failing retaining wall in the back yard creating drainage issues around the house. They also had a wide variety of plants in the ground with varying levels of maintenance needs. The slope of the yard created an issue for our client to be able to safely access and care for the plants. To help resolve this issue in the design additional retention and grading to a flat surface were proposed.
As installation came along we worked with the client to choose low-maintenance erosion control plants and ultimately kept most of the low water use established plants in the ground rather than removing them. Instead of grading behind the retaining wall for access, we specified a few more plants to help with erosion and filling in space so that the client doesn't need to worry about maintenance. Native evergreen trees commonly used for bank stabilization were specified in the back to create a screen from the proposed development at the top of the client's slope.
We also created a design for the front yard which may be installed in the next year or so. Installation done by Warner Landscape Construction.
