Our client reached out looking to update their front yard to be more drought-tolerant. They were used to hedged shrubs and a uniform appearance. A couple of concept drafts were drawn up for the client and another concern around rainfall was brought to my attention. To alleviate the client’s issue with water collecting at the base of their house a rain garden was proposed for the space with some grass plantings. Most of the existing plants were kept in place to help with the project budget. Some moderate water use plants were utilized but the majority were low water use. The installation took place in April of 2022.
